Have you ever felt that spark of excitement when you get to unleash your creativity? Whether it’s your latest work of art, a super delicious meal, or even an efficient spreadsheet, there’s a bit of magic in developing something unique to you. This year, we’re engaging over 200 students in our Community Voices (CV) program, so they experience that same creative spark through media making.
Designed to meet participants where they are, Community Voices offers a wide range of workshops and media-arts centered professional development for schools, community centers, and educators, tailored to their interests and needs. Wide Angle teachers facilitate photography projects on themes like Black joy and resilience, unpack literature from local authors through typography portraits, and connect with educators to infuse their lessons with media arts. Community Voices workshops provide spaces for young media artists to access tools and resources to produce images, videos, and designs that reflect who they are.
As a fee for service offering, host sites split the program costs with Wide Angle. We’re dedicated to providing youth with high quality media experiences that are free to participants - and that’s where you come in! Your generous support will help cover the remaining costs, so our team can inspire young artists across the region.
