This fall, your support can help launch something new at Wide Angle.

We’re raising $50,000 through our Creating Careers campaign to launch our new pre-apprenticeship program for youth, ages 18–26, who are ready to turn their artistic skills into careers.

For 25 years, Wide Angle has invested in Baltimore young people, giving them the tools, training, mentors, and paid opportunities to transform their creativity into possibility. Your gift can help us take that work one step further by opening a new pathway from creative learning to sustainable employment and higher education.

For a young person with talent and ambition, the difference between having a creative passion and building a career can come down to access: access to professional networks, real-world experience, mentors, equipment, training, and someone who believes in what they can become.

This is where your generosity is critical.

Your support will help create a comprehensive, hands-on experience where 10 young adults can build the skills and confidence to see themselves as creative professionals. They’ll develop client pitches, produce videos, refine design campaigns, create content for community organizations, and gain experience navigating real workplace environments. Along the way, they’ll build professional portfolios, strengthen their networks, and begin envisioning what comes next.

Over the course of 9 months, participants will:

  • Complete 450 hours of hands-on training in Wide Angle’s state-of-the-art studios and media labs
  • Complete 450 hours of workplace training with a host organization
  • Build a professional portfolio, resume, and individualized next-step plan
  • Develop technical, communication, collaboration, and entrepreneurship skills
  • Prepare to transition into employment or higher education

Maryland residents can double their impact.

Wide Angle is part of the state’s special Community Investment Tax Credits (CITC) program, available for Maryland-based donors for gifts over $500. Through CITC, individual donors may receive significant state tax benefits to make your investment go even further. The tax credit functions as a 50/50 split of your gift - half of your total donation comes back to you as a Maryland state tax credit.
