Join us for the first in a series of film screenings followed by panel discussions, highlighting work from local film makers, our young professionals, and alumni. This commemorative series helps us mark the 25th year of Wide Angle Youth Media!
The Body Politic is a celebrated documentary film that chronicles the first year of Brandon Scott's term as Baltimore's youngest-ever mayor. The film provides an intimate look at his idealistic, holistic approach to reducing chronic gun violence in the city, and the political opposition and public scrutiny he faces.
Speakers at the event will include Erricka Bridgeford (Founder of Ceasefire 365), Dante Johnson (Director of Safe Streets Belair-Edison), Jahsol Drummond (Associate Producer and WAYM alum), and Jesse Goldstein (Associate Editor & WAYM board member). The Q&A will be emceed by Mayor Brandon Scott.
