Hi friends:
I haven't asked for your monetary support in a long time. (Last time was for an itty bitty music project I was involved in that you may vaguely recall....involving some messed-with Pink Floyd songs and 50+ Baltimore musicians....no big thing....)
This time it's not about me or any of my musical cronies. Today I'm asking for your support because I just love this organization, its amazing staff, its inspiring and hardworking students, and its utter Baltimore-City-ness: the real city, filled with talented and focused young people, not the violent caricature you hear about on the news.
Wide Angle Youth Media teaches kids to become great storytellers and budding media professionals, with serious credits and skills by the time they emerge from its programs. The high school students in WAYM's Mentoring Video Project are completing two new documentary films for the spring and they need your help to take these important shorts over the finish line.
We need to reach our goal of $8,500 by April 28th! WAYM has a terrific support network, of which I'm proud to be a small part. I am reaching out to my friends to see if we can raise just a portion of that number.
The first film is a short documentary that brings awareness to warning signs of depression, and the second video explores methods of preventing escalation of conflict in communities.
When these documentaries are completed at the end of the spring semester, they will enter consideration for film festivals around the world. With your help, thousands of people will witness the work of Wide Angle's youth.
Your contribution will give you a Special Project Credit on the film of your choice as the following:
